Our Principal Dentist, Dr. Leo, is the epitome of our Parkwood Dentistry and Implants service – an experienced expert with a soft heart, kind nature and passion for his craft.

Dr. Leo is your traditional family dentist: a self-confessed chatterbox who genuinely cares both about your teeth and you as a person. Every day, he is committed to making a difference in people’s lives through quality dental health care.

Dr. Leo comes from a whole family of dentists – that is why it was no surprise when he decided to follow his passion and pursue dentistry as well, following in the successful footsteps of his father, siblings and cousins. In fact, they frequently get together to discuss the industry, best practises and case studies.

Not long after graduating in 2004, Dr Leo had his own practice in Brazil before eventually moving to Australia in 2007. From here, he worked for Queensland Health and several private dental practices around Australia before working at Griffith University as a General Dentist and Clinical Supervisor. Over those eight years there, he forged genuine relationships with dental academics and became an industry leader in the process.

Dr Leo also gained extensive, hands-on experience and developed a real driving passion for dental implants, oral surgery, root canal treatments, dentures and other complex procedures – which is why his peers and colleagues come to him for advice when handling complicated cases.

His desire to keep learning and improving, his love for working on challenging, tough cases and his passion for people led him to start his own practice – the Parkwood Dentistry and Implants that we know and love today.

When Dr. Leo is not occupied with dentistry and looking after his precious patients, he loves to spend time at home, cooking for his family, looking after his garden and working on his carpentry projects. He also enjoys road cycling with friends on the weekends – and here’s a fun fact: he has already completed the Brisbane to Gold Coast Challenge several times!
